Concept:
The briefing from Hema was very tight:
• show clearly on the label what is inside
• differentiate it from how other companies do it
• use transparent labels

Because photography is mostly used on drink packaging, I chose for this colorful illustration style. These drinks are sold all over the Netherlands, so sometimes I stop by a store just to see, if people really buy it. They do, so cool!

Concept:
Bureau ICE is a major player in dutch market for measuring in language tests, exams, rapports, assessements and more. They work for ministeries, municipalities, companies and the educational sector. To meet the client needs for clarity, I used Pop Art as an inspiration. Real objects and real stars are the art itself and are slightly manipulated in color. The logo and the color green was already given, so I expanded and developed the visual language. The final website turned out different then my proposal, but the strongest elements survived:-)

about

After working 4 years for major Dutch design companies I started my own design practice. A main focus of my work are Visual Identities, where I started out for medium-size companies in the cultural and educational field. Therefore I combine my analytical and organizing skills to create relevant, meaningful and beautiful work. This results is an open system, a visual language, a recognizable style.

My second focus is Editorial Design. Why do I like it? Because my mom works in one of the biggest libraries in Germany and I grew up in literate environment! To structure the content in an appealing way and to turn the book rather in a desirable object is my aim.

My third focus are images. It can be photography, illustration or typography as an image. They are probably the strongest and the quickest way to communicate an issue. In this field I create independent artwork to experiment and explore which then can influence my commercial assignments. The most recent examples are my T-Shirt-Series which are available at Amazon and my "Ars Electronica"-photos, which combine nature and science.
